For a place that promotes healthy living through healthy eating, why contradict healthy people with the deadly effects of smoking? Each year nearly 7.6 million people die in the world due to smoking and secondhand smoke. People lack the knowledge or simply disregard the dangers of tobacco use, or secondhand smoke. For those who smoke, how would it feel knowing you took a life when you smoked? People are being killed by people who just want to feed an addiction. What benefits does tobacco provide, what are some healthy effects of tobacco, I doubt if there are any at all. The price of a pack of cigarettes has now become a price of a life. An estimated 54,000 people die a year just from second hand smoke in the United States . Secondhand smoke is simply secondhand murder. A farmers’ market is a place of freshness and life, health and happiness. To contaminate that with cigarettes and smoke is taking away the boldness and zeal of the health promoted by farmers’ markets. Vulnerable children as well as adults are being involuntarily victimized by smoking at farmers’ market. Becoming subject to breathing in the deadly effects of nicotine and tar into their lungs and possibly suffering an illness without even knowing what have happened to them. Can you be the voice for those that have lost theirs due to secondhand smoke? Support smoke-free farmers’ markets.
