Should tobacco be used outside non-recreational areas? That is not a question that should be asked. There are many reasons why tobacco shouldn’t be used outdoors. For example, if we expose tobacco in a clean environment to innocent bystanders, it can affect both the environment and the human race.
If someone decides to smoke tobacco outdoors they aren’t thinking of how many chemicals they are letting out from the cigarette they are smoking. This can affect the environment by spreading those toxins and hurting the whole community. One way it can hurt the environment is by all the pollution cigarettes let out. This can pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. Also, because of secondhand smoke, this can later then affect our bodies even though we might have not smoked a cigarette.
Another reason tobacco should not be allowed outdoors is because it can get innocent people and children to have some serious illnesses. For one, kids and adults can get asthma and would have to live with it their whole life, just because some strangers decided to smoke right where these innocent people were just trying to enjoy some time together. These people would also take part of the consequences that smokers would get, but most likely not as worse, they would still have an effect. Was it their fault to be at the wrong place at the wrong time? These are just two reasons tobacco shouldn’t be allowed outdoors, it should matter to all of us what hurts the people that live in this world, and what affects the world that we live in.
