Secondhand smoke is the combination of smoke that comes from a cigarette and smoke breathed out by a smoker releasing toxins. When a non-smoker is around someone smoking, they breathe in secondhand smoke chemicals.
According to the 2006 U.S. Surgeon General's Report, "The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Secondhand Smoke," has concluded that there is no safe level of exposure to secondhand smoke and that, on average, children are exposed to more secondhand smoke than adults. Children are significantly affected by secondhand smoke. Children's bodies are still developing, and exposure to the poisons in secondhand smoke puts them at risk of severe respiratory diseases and can hinder the growth of their lungs. Secondhand smoke is a known cause of low birth weight, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, middle ear infection, and other diseases.
Children are too young to go to heaven so young so have your child in danger when you could help stop secondhand smoke. Some ways to help is to make a lot of public areas non-smoke and have smoke areas far away as possible so it won’t hurt you and your loved ones.

Tobacco is very enticing to teenagers it makes them want to try it. Just like when you see a commercial about McDonald's hamburgers, it looks so good and it entices you to want to go to McDonald's and get that hamburger, same goes for all kinds of tobacco products.
Tobacco isn't always used in the form of cigarettes these days it is in the swisher sweets that young people like to take the tobacco out and put weed in it but the inside of the lining is made of tobacco so even though they think they are just smoking weed they are taking in all the tobacco chemicals as well.
Another form of tobacco that makes teenagers want it, is vapes or vaporizers, teens think that it is just flavoring put in vapes but it still has all the harsh chemicals as a cigarette itself has. Teenagers are very oblivious to how many cancerous chemicals are in tobacco. And how those chemicals might hurt them.
Don't be another teenager that thinks tobacco is cool. Stop tobacco in its tracks! stop smoking now and set an example for the rest of the world!

Say No to Smoking!
Say no to Smoking!
A little
over 16 million Americans suffer from diseases caused by smoking tobacco.
Earlier this year in November we the Asian
Coalition for Tobacco use Prevention visited 120 stores in which we
searched for tobacco products being sold. 76 surveys were completed; the stores
we visited were based on gas stations, local markets, convenience stores,
supermarkets, drug stores, and others. In pursuit of searching for tobacco
products being sold. Are main focus was to count three main products
cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and little cigars/cigarillos.
Based on the
information we collected 38% of stores sold e-cigarettes within reach of candy.
20 of the stores advertised a price promotion on a tobacco product, most
commonly for the little cigarettes or Cigarillos. The cheapest price for a
single pack of cigarettes was 3-4 dollars. Cheaper than being a burger meal
from McDonalds. Pall Mall was the most frequent lowest price of cigarettes
followed by Marlboro. The most common promotion for Cigarillos was swisher
sweets priced at 99 cents.
Over all, the data collected provided us with enough
information to state that tobacco is still a huge issue in which we are
determined to stop. Please help us with our mission to stop tobacco sold cheap
and around youth. Together we can make a change in the way the world sees
tobacco.

Editorial: Brad Pitt Does It, Why Don't You? by Linda
A lot of people go to the movies for entertainment or to keep updated with the new movies. Being a parent, you wouldn’t want your kids to be exposed to anything bad at all, especially a movie with smoking in it. The highest rating when there is smoking in a movie is PG-13 should actually be rated higher.
In fact, 44% of adolescent tobacco initiation can be credited to exposure to smoking in movies. If the rating for violence is rated R, so should the rating for smoking in the movies. People say the reason behind violence being rated an R is because it will encourage kids to copy them or to resort to violence. But what about smoking? Wouldn’t a child want to smoke if their favorite actor or actress was smoking. I know when I was a kid when I watched "I love Lucy" and I saw Ricky Ricardo smoking I thought he was cool because he made everyone laugh and I wanted to make everyone laugh.
As a child sees violence, they think that is an acceptable way to solve things. People smoke to solve/relieve their stress or even just to look cool. Why wouldn’t a child think smoking is okay when everyone in a movie that you let them go to has smoking in it. To avoid going through all that process and talking to your kid about what was happening and what was wrong about it.
Cigarettes contain arsenic, formaldehyde, lead, hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia and 43 known carcinogens. All of those are very deadly when consumed at daily. Nicotine reaches the brain within 10 seconds after smoke is inhaled. It has been found in every part of the body.
The MPAA should just give a rating of R whenever there is smoking in sight or when a you can obviously see a cigarette brand in plain view. Protecting our kids from smoking in the future will help us, them, and the environment. As Brooke Shields said,” Smoking kills. If you're killed, you've lost a very important part of your life.” We don’t want ours or anyone else’s kids losing that important part in their lives.
